Why I Wrote Increase Your Golf Swing Speed

I’ve spent a lot of time around golf and fitness, and over the years I’ve noticed something that seems to be true for almost every golfer: we all want a little more distance.
Who doesn't?
But I’ve also noticed that many golfers go about increasing their distance the wrong way. They simply try to swing harder. Unfortunately, swinging harder doesn’t necessarily mean swinging faster. In many cases, it leads to poor balance, inconsistent contact, loss of control, and sometimes even injury.
That got me thinking: What if golfers could learn to create more swing speed without simply trying to swing harder?
That question was one of the reasons I wrote Increase Your Golf Swing Speed.
I wanted to bring together two areas that have been important to me for years—golf and fitness. I believe that increasing swing speed involves much more than simply changing your golf swing. Flexibility, strength, balance, coordination, timing, and efficient body movement all play a role in how much speed you can generate.
I didn't want to write a complicated technical manual. My goal was to give everyday golfers practical ideas they could actually use. Whether you're trying to pick up five yards or significantly increase your distance, the principles are much the same: move better, train smarter, and learn to use your body more efficiently.
One of the biggest things I want golfers to understand is that more speed doesn't necessarily mean more effort. You don't have to try to kill the ball on every swing. In fact, sometimes the best way to increase speed is to improve your sequencing, timing, and body movement so that the club moves faster without you feeling like you're working harder.
That’s really what this book is about.
I wrote Increase Your Golf Swing Speed because I wanted to share what I’ve learned from my experience with golf, fitness, and working with golfers. If the book helps someone add a few yards, improve their swing, or simply understand their golf swing a little better, then it has accomplished what I intended.
And, of course, there’s nothing wrong with watching that ball fly a little farther down the fairway!
